Democrats Putting Politics Before National Security?

June 21, 2010 – Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-AZ) said that in a recent private meeting with President Obama, the President said, "The problem is, if we secure the border, then you all won't have any reason to support comprehensive immigration reform.”

If the President is indeed holding increased border security hostage until Republicans in Congress support an amnesty bill, the American people are going to be outraged, but not all that surprised. Whether it’s engaging in backroom deals to ram through a health care takeover or refusing to follow through with their responsibility to pass an annual budget, time after time the Democrats have been putting politics before principle.

Ryan Frazier said, “If this is true, it is yet another example of how far off track the Democrat establishment is in Washington. The American people don’t want elected officials using our country’s security as a political bargaining chip. They want the federal government’s top priority to be protecting our country—and that means securing our borders and making sure that we know exactly who is coming in and out of our country.”
