Frazier Renews Call on Perlmutter to Oppose Second Stimulus
September 10, 2010 - Ryan Frazier, candidate for the 7th Congressional District, today renewed his call on incumbent Democrat Rep. Ed Perlmutter to oppose President Obama’s new $50 billion stimulus package. The Denver Post reported that Colorado Democrat Reps. John Salazar and Betsy Markey, along with appointed Democrat Senator Michael Bennet, oppose a second stimulus bill.
“It’s encouraging to see that most of Colorado’s delegation is opposing this unnecessary spending,” Frazier said. “Ed should follow the positive example set by his Democrat colleagues and oppose more wasteful government spending.”
The opposition to the second stimulus package by almost half of Colorado’s Democrat Members of Congress will hamper President Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s ability to ram another spending bill through Congress. Rep. Perlmutter has not publicly decided on how he intends to vote should a second stimulus bill be brought to the House floor. According to The Denver Post, Perlmutter’s record shows he votes with Speaker Pelosi over 98% of the time.
“Out of control spending doesn’t lead to job creation,” Frazier concluded. “Washington needs a new voice with common sense solutions to our nation’s economic crisis.”

Frazier Asks Perlmutter to Oppose More Government Stimulus Spending
September 7, 2010 - Ryan Frazier, candidate for the 7th Congressional District, today asked incumbent Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Golden) to oppose another wasteful stimulus package proposed by President Barack Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The new six-year program will cost the American taxpayer at least another $50 billion on top of the TRILLION dollar stimulus spending spree supported by Perlmutter 18 months ago. Since then, America’s unemployment rate has increased to 9.6 percent, despite promises from Congressional Democrats that it would not surpass eight percent if their spending packages went into effect.
“I hope Ed listened to his constituents over the August recess and will oppose more wasteful government spending,” Frazier said. “The people of Colorado’s 7th Congressional District are sick and tired of Washington insiders and their spending addictions.”
Media outlets have recently reported on the failure of President Obama’s stimulus policies, ironically named the ‘Summer of Recovery’, which Perlmutter supported. The American economy continues to shed jobs while the national unemployment rate rises.
“With our economy struggling to recover, America needs leaders, not rubberstamps,” Frazier concluded. “As the next Congressman from the 7th Congressional District, I will rein in out-of-control spending, balance the budget, and provide tax incentives to small businesses in order to get Americans back to work.”

Frazier Disappointed with Failed ‘Summer Recovery’ as Unemployment Increases
September 3, 2010 – Ryan Frazier, candidate for the 7th Congressional District, today expressed disappointment with the failed ‘summer of recovery’ as new unemployment numbers increased for the third straight month. The national unemployment rate went up to 9.6% as the U.S. economy shed close to 300,000 jobs over the summer.
“Where are the jobs, Ed?” Frazier asked. “The ‘summer of recovery’ touted by the White House, and Ed Perlmutter, clearly didn’t work.”
President Barack Obama today said, “We are moving in the right direction,” and called the new unemployment statistics “positive.”
“If these numbers are considered positive by the President, I don’t want to see what negative looks like,” Frazier concluded. “Washington needs real leadership that will get our fiscal house in order and put Americans back to work.”

Frazier Calls for Geithner’s Resignation
August 26, 2010 - Ryan Frazier, Republican candidate for the 7th Congressional District, today called for the resignation of U.S. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. Geithner, who has faced heavy bi-partisan criticism for his handling of our economic recession, has overseen a drastic increase in national unemployment numbers and the national debt, as well as advocated for Wall Street bailouts and a failed TRILLION dollar stimulus program.
“We simply cannot spend our way to economic prosperity and job creation,” Frazier said. “It’s time for a new leader at the Treasury Department and a way out of our economic crisis.”
Frazier also called on his opponent, incumbent Democrat Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Golden), to join him in calling for Geithner’s resignation.
“Ed has been a rubberstamp for the Washington establishment for the last four years,” Frazier concluded. “I hope he breaks ranks with Pelosi, for the first time, and joins me in pushing for a new economic advisor at the Treasury Department.”

Perlmutter Blames Bush for His Job-Killing Votes
August 20, 2010 – Instead of taking responsibility for his job-killing votes in the U.S. House of Representatives, Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Golden) used the same tired rhetoric of the Democratic Party by blaming former President George W. Bush for our prolonged economic recession at this morning’s Arvada Chamber of Commerce debate. Perlmutter’s Bush blame-game was met with jeers from the crowd.
“The Pelosi-Perlmutter agenda has done nothing to help get Americans back to work,” Ryan Frazier, Republican nominee for the 7th Congressional District, said. “Ed needs to stop making excuses and take responsibility for the failed policies of this Congress.”
Perlmutter also falsely claimed President Bush left a $1.3 trillion budget deficit when he left office. The budget deficit in 2008, Bush’s last year, was an unacceptable $438 billion. Despite criticizing Bush for his spending habits in 2007, Perlmutter has since voted to more than triple the budget deficit, to $1.4 trillion, in just two years.
“Since Ed took office in January of 2007, Colorado’s unemployment rate has doubled,” Frazier continued. “Americans want new solutions, not more of the same.”
In 2006, Perlmutter said he would NOT mandate businesses to provide healthcare to their employees. Yet, this year, Perlmutter flip-flopped and voted for the most intrusive and expansive healthcare mandate in history.
“Ed went to Washington to change it. Instead, Washington changed Ed.” Frazier concluded. “It’s time for a new way forward.”

Frazier Statement on Republican Primary Win
August 10, 2010 - Ryan Frazier, the Republican nominee for the 7th Congressional District, released the following statement on his primary win. Lang Sias called Frazier earlier tonight to concede the election. He will take on incumbent Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Golden) in November.
“Our campaign has the best supporters and volunteers in Colorado. There is no way I would be the Republican nominee for the 7th Congressional District without their tireless support. Now, we embrace the hard work required to win in November, by earning the confidence of the people throughout our district."
“My fellow veteran and primary opponent, Lang Sias, ran a strong and principled campaign. His dedication to our great nation will ensure he continues to serve. Lang and I share common beliefs in limited government, lower taxes, a strong national defense, and the goal of defeating Ed Perlmutter in November. I hope Lang, and his supporters, will continue their commitment to conservative values and help us carry forward our message of a strong economy and fiscal responsibility to a win in the general election."
“The people have spoken tonight. I'm asking Americans of all backgrounds to Believe Again. They no longer want Washington insiders burdening future generations with mountains of debt. They don’t believe we can tax and spend our way to economic prosperity. They don’t believe new government powers and regulations create jobs and wealth. Instead, they want a fresh voice and a new way forward. They want to believe our children and grandchildren will have more opportunities and a better quality of life than previous generations. We must believe again so that together we can build a better future."
“Colorado needs a real representative of the people – not a congressman that’s out of touch with his constituents. Free markets, less spending, lower taxes, and investing in innovation will create jobs and get our economy back on track. In Congress, I will fight for common-sense policies that tighten Washington's belt and restore long-term fiscal discipline to our budget. Our families need representatives who will put America first.”

Frazier Urges Ritter to Adopt Secure Communities Program
August 2, 2010 – Ryan Frazier, Aurora City Councilman and candidate for the 7th Congressional District, today sent a letter urging Democratic Governor Bill Ritter to adopt the Secure Communities program that would provide Colorado law enforcement the tools necessary to better identify illegal immigrants within our jails. The federal program, adopted by other states across the country, allows law enforcement to match fingerprints of individuals booked into jail with a database maintained by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in order to determine the immigration status of the suspected criminal. Frazier is a strong advocate of piloting the program in Colorado.
“Secure Communities gives law enforcement better access to national databases,” Frazier said. “If implemented, Colorado’s cities will be safer, and our jails will be more efficient.”
Three of the largest counties in Colorado – Denver, Arapahoe, and El Paso – are prepared to pilot the Secure Communities program. Sheriffs and safety managers in these counties have expressed their interest in using the program in order to make their jails more efficient at a negligible cost, and to keep repeat illegal immigrant criminals off the streets. Secure Communities requires that every suspected criminal brought to jail will be subjected to the same fingerprint scan and background check, regardless of race or ethnic background.
“Governor Ritter needs to give our communities the ability work with the federal government to tackle illegal immigration,” Frazier concluded. “As a city councilman, I’m advocating for these types of common sense solutions that Colorado desperately needs.”

August 2, 2010
Governor Ritter,
It has come to my attention that you have not made a final decision on whether to support implementing the Secure Communities program in Colorado. I urge you to support this pilot program in order to give our police departments and jails the tools necessary to tackle the problem of illegal immigration that has had negative effects on our state, and our nation.
Secure Communities is a federal program, adopted nationwide, that gives our jails access to a U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement database. The program is used to match fingerprints of suspected criminals brought to jail in Colorado with a national database of known illegal immigrants or those who have had previous contact with immigration officials. As sheriffs and safety managers across Colorado have already suggested, this program will make our communities safer, allow law enforcement to better implement immigration laws, and make our jails more efficient. It is in Colorado’s best interest to work with the federal government in order to successfully enforce our immigration laws with the Secure Communities program.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to your favorable response.
Sincerely,

Ryan L. Frazier

Former Reagan National Security Advisor Endorses Ryan Frazier for Congress
July 27, 2010 – Former Naval Intelligence member, and candidate for the 7th Congressional District, Ryan Frazier has been endorsed by former National Security Advisor, and Colorado resident, Richard V. Allen. Allen was Ronald Reagan’s Chief Foreign Policy Advisor, from 1977 to 1980, before becoming his first National Security Advisor upon his election as President of the United States. He is now a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and a fellow at Colorado Christian University’s Centennial Institute.
“Ryan Frazier is a 21st Century leader with the national security experience and ideas to defend our global leadership in education, science and technology, and defense,” Richard V. Allen said. “He is clear and decisive on border security – critically essential for our safety.”
While in the Navy, Frazier was assigned to the National Security Agency as a Senior Operations Controller. He led a team of intelligence analysts, and reporters, responsible for a high-priority mission critical to national security. Frazier believes securing our porous borders and enforcing our immigration laws are vital to national security – a belief that earned him the endorsement of Reagan’s National Security Advisor.
“I know and admire Ryan’s fine record of service to our country,” Allen concluded. “Ryan Frazier really gets it and, as Colorado residents, we need him representing this great state and its vital interests in Washington.”

Frazier Denounces Perlmutter, Obama on Deficit and Unemployment Numbers
July 26, 2010 – Ryan Frazier, a partner in a small business and candidate for the 7th Congressional District, today denounced Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Golden) and President Barack Obama for drastically increasing our budget deficit and breaking their promise to keep unemployment at 8 percent.
“This administration has done nothing but break promises,” Frazier said. “Washington needs to learn that our economic crisis cannot be solved by reckless spending and higher taxes.”
On Friday, the White House announced America’s budget deficit will hit another all-time high at $1.47 TRILLION for 2010. In 2008, under President George W. Bush, the U.S. budget deficit was already a staggering $438 billion. Two years later, Barack Obama and Rep. Perlmutter more than tripled that number – despite criticizing President Bush for his budget deficit.
On September 10, 2008, from the House Floor, Perlmutter stated, "[The Bush budgets have] run the deficit to levels we have never seen before, which then have resulted in foreclosures, job losses, and a whole variety of things."
President Obama and Congressional Democrats promised America’s unemployment rate would not climb higher than 8 percent if their $787 billion “stimulus” bill passed. The White House recently reneged on its pledge and stated the U.S. unemployment rate will stay at, or above, 9 percent through 2012.
“The Obama administration continues to raise taxes and increase spending at unprecedented levels at the expense of the American taxpayer and businesses across the country,” Frazier concluded. “Perlmutter is out of touch with the voters of the 7th Congressional District as he continues to be a rubberstamp for the Obama-Pelosi agenda. I'm running for Congress to restore our conservative principles, balance our budget, and create new jobs to get our economy moving in the right direction."

Frazier Slams Perlmutter, Obama on Burdensome Financial Regulations
July 21, 2010 - Ryan Frazier, a partner in a small business and candidate for the 7th Congressional District, criticized Rep. Ed Perlmutter (D-Golden) and President Barack Obama for their support of the burdensome, 2,300-page financial regulation bill. Rep. Perlmutter voted for the bill in June that was signed into law by President Obama today.
“Adding more taxpayer-funded bureaucrats to the payroll won’t fix our economic crisis,” Frazier said. “American businesses, of all sizes, need regulatory certainty to attract investors, pay their employees, and grow their enterprises.”
The new legislation places broad new powers in the hands of Washington regulators and puts blind faith in a new regulatory council tasked with monitoring threats to the American economy.
Perlmutter voted to bail out America’s largest banks, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac – while taking political donations from the financial sector – before voting to place onerous regulations on America’s financial industry that will cripple the economy. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have already cost American taxpayers $145 billion in bailout funds.
“The law Perlmutter voted for will put America at a competitive disadvantage in the world economy,” Frazier concluded. “Using taxpayer money to over regulate our economy will slow job creation and, ultimately, our economic recovery.”
